CyberPath Program Status (as at May 4 2026)

The CyberPath program is progressing across multiple workstreams, with foundational elements defined and early frameworks underway. Current efforts are focused on developing the Occupations Framework, due at the end of May, including identifying priority roles, expected outcomes, and potential impacts. Key strategic questions around professionalisation, scalability, and long-term sustainability are being explored, with upcoming milestones scheduled through to 2027. Overall, the program is advancing as planned, with active development now informing the next phase of framework design and stakeholder input

Independent Research Findings

The CyberPath Professionalisation Pilot, delivered in partnership with Evolved Group, brings together one of the most comprehensive national consultations on Australia’s cybersecurity workforce. Combining targeted qualitative engagement with large-scale industry input, the program captures insights from professionals, employers, educators, and government to identify critical workforce challenges and future capability needs. Leveraging AI-driven analytics alongside expert review, the findings provide a robust, evidence-based foundation for designing a nationally consistent professionalisation framework—focused on skills, career pathways, and real-world competency validation. The result is a clear blueprint for a more aligned, scalable, and future-ready cybersecurity workforce.
